The Executive Director of the Centre, Prof. Gilbert Adie attended the Second meeting of the working group of the Partnership for Action on Challenges relating to E-waste (PACEII) in Bratislava, Slovakia from 27-29 January, 2026. The meeting was organized by the Secretariat of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions

The objective of the meeting was to advance the work on the development of two guidance documents on environmentally sound repair and refurbishment of used and on ESM of waste equipment of 1) TV screens, audio and video equipment and 2) Refrigerators, cooling and heating equipment. As well as other POW activities, as included in COP17 decision BC-17/19 Part I.

The meeting participants include members of PACEII. The outcome of the meeting will be submitted for consideration by the fifteenth meeting of the Open-ended working group (June 2026, Geneva).
