This project focuses on reducing plastic pollution by engaging final-year students of the University of Ibadan, the Polytechnic Ibadan.

The main objective of the project is to train these final-year students on issues related to plastics and plastics pollution and mandate them to disseminate what they have learnt at their places of primary assignment all over the country during their NYSC year. The project seeks to leverage on this approach to create awareness nationally on issues of plastics and plastic waste management. Current serving NYSC Corps members in Ibadan will also participate and be mandated to disseminate information on what they have learnt.

The project is implemented by the Basel Convention Coordinating Centre for the African Region (BCCC-Africa) and funded by the Secretariat of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Convention (BRS Secretariat) of the United Nation Environment Programme
