Financial Resources

The Centre expects to receive an annual access Contribution of $100,000 (one hundred thousand dollars) pledged by the Federal Government of Nigeria. Other potential future sources of funding include the Basel Convention Trust fund, revenue from services provided, fees and earned interest charged by the Centre.

The banker to the Centre is First Bank of Nigeria, PLC., University of Ibadan branch,Ibadan, Oyo State. The Centre currently operates independent Naira and Dollar denominated accounts with the bank. Signatories to the accounts are the Centre's Executive Director and Accountant.


On inauguration of a Steering Committee, the Centre will be governed by a Steering Committee made up of the Directors of the Basel Convention Regional Centers in the African region, representatives of the Federal Government of Nigeria, one  member  state  representative  from  each  of  the  Basel  Convention  Regional Centres

The Pan-African Forum on e-Waste

The Pan-African Forum on E-waste was held in in UNEP Headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya, from 12 to 16 March 2012. The forum was a follow up to the recently concluded E-Waste Africa Project.
